Patriarchy (noun): a system of society or government in which men hold the power and women are largely excluded from it.

Oh, where to begin with the patriarchy... The patriarchy can only thrive as long as feminism does not. By dictating societal identification, expectations, and understanding of women, it is a system which keeps us firmly in line. Preoccupied with the constant demands of survival, a cycle is created in which we are then too exhausted to question why our pay is still unequal, why we are being gaslit for our medical issues, why we still bear the emotional labour, why video comments reduce us to our looks, why beauty standards are so unrealistic, why men start wars but we’re over-emotional, why we are still being murdered, raped, ignored, denied, abused, accused, and abandoned.

I hope you can stand behind me when I say: “F*CK THE PATRIARCHY”.
